Open Submissions

 There’s no “formula” at Tri Destiny Publishing.  We want authors and readers to find a home here with us.  We crave creativity.   We want authors to write what inspires them, even if it’s unconventional!  If you’re unpublished, let us know. We encourage the development of new talent and are always eager to read submissions by new authors!

 

— Submission Guidelines – 

When submitting to Tri Destiny, please send a brief cover email to submissions@tridestinypublishing.com which includes: Genre, approximate word count, a short blurb, and any previous publication credits.  Along with the those items, please send us a detailed synopsis of your work (2 to 4 pages giving us information about the setting, main characters, conflict, full plot and resolution, and whether or not it is intended to be part of an ongoing series).   Please also include the first three ( 3 ) chapters and the final chapter of your manuscript.  If the manuscript is still unfinished, please let us know and give us an approximate date of completion.

          ** We are happy to take submissions from all authors which are presented simultaneously to other publishing houses, but we do request to be notified of this at the time of submission and keep us apprised of the ongoing status.**

 

— Submission material which can be considered —

TriDestiny Publishing is open to submissions of all genre of work, fiction (including mainstream romance fiction, paranormal, suspense and/or fantasy) as well as nonfiction.  If your story does not fit into one particular genre, or you are unsure which genre to list, that’s fine!  Some of the best work we’ve read could have easily have fit into multiple genre categories!

We are generally flexible on wordcounts and accept submissions that range from 35,000 words to 100,000 words.  Keep in mind that the number of words will vary greatly during the editing process.  You may start out with 35,000 words before edits and end up with over 50,000 after.  Likewise, you may submit 100,000-word manuscript and after edits it could be 75,000.  Editing is a multi-phasic process and there is lots of room for variation.

 

— What we will not accept —

TriDestiny Publishing will not accept any work in which the main plot line focuses specifically on any of the following: Illegal sexual acts (including but not limited to, pedophilia, necrophilia, incest or graphic rape scenes), bestiality (including un-shifted/half-shifted/shifted shapeshifter with human combinations – please pick a form and let them have their fun!), or overt racial intolerance of any kind.

If there is a specific scene that is an integral part of the story, not presented in a positive light, and the main plot line does not repeatedly use these scenes, the manuscript may still be considered.  We want our published works to leave the reader with a sense of positivity, happiness, and acceptance.

 

— Specific Guidelines for Special Submissions —

In addition to the above guidelines, some of our specialty lines have specific requirements.  Please check below and follow the specific requirements if your manuscript falls into one of these categories:

Non-Fiction Line – All non-fiction submissions should contain a detailed bibliography along with citations in the text as appropriate.  We fact-check all non-fiction submissions where necessary, so please help us by providing us any pertinent details we would need to do this.  Please include “Non-fiction Submission” in the subject line of the submission email.

Informative Religious Books – Tri Destiny’s overall vision is to be a place of acceptance and communion.  To further that goal, all religions/denominations will be respected and treated equally.  All submissions will be reviewed and accepted/rejected based on their merit.  Any submission for consideration should be cautious not to disparage other religions or religious viewpoints.  Compare/contrast is acceptable and encouraged as part of religious education and discussion; however, we will not accept submissions which put down a specific religion or culture.

Young Adults (YA) – Submissions for YA consideration should contain no more than a PG-13-type content.  They should be appropriate for ages 12-18 (though we know some YA books do become beloved by many adults too!)  Explicit sexual scenes, graphic language, or overly mature situations will exclude a submission from this line.  Please include “YA line” in the subject line of the submission email.

Beacons of Light –  A special off-shoot of our YA line, submissions considered here will be ones which contain young adults as the main characters who face and triumph over a specific adversity (physical, situational, emotional, etc), thus becoming “Beacons of Light” (positive role models) for our younger readers.  A strong moral/value-based theme is a must.   Please include “Beacons of Light” in the subject line of the submission email

Tri Destiny Romance – All submissions should have a strong romantic overtone.  It doesn’t have to be the main focus of the book (ie: romantic suspense) but there should definitely be a “couple” that has the reader rooting for a HEA (happily ever after) or HFN (happy for now) ending!  Sexual or sensual scenes are a necessary part of any good romance, but please remember it should add flavor and spice to the story not be the story.   Please include “Tri Destiny Romance” in the subject line of your submission email.

Sizzlin’ Books - Tri Destiny’s hot and spicy romance line.  Any story which contains heavy sexual content, BDSM, GLBT (M/M or F/F), ménages, paranormal or supernatural, or erotica will be considered for this line.  This line leaves a lot of room for creativity and inventiveness.  Please include “Sizzlin’ Books” in the subject line of your submission email.

Special Submissions and Anthologies – From time to time Tri Destiny will have a call out for submissions to be included in a special line or anthology (holiday, summer, winter, etc).  We will post these open calls to our Facebook page as well as the Tri Destiny website along with any specific guidelines and submission deadlines.

 

— Submission Formatting Guidelines —

When sending your manuscript/synopsis please name them: Title_Author Last Name_First Name_file-type. (For instance, ”Jenna Duchan” would submit her manuscript with files named: “Dying to Love” as  Dying_to_Love_Duchan_Jenna-full, or Dying_to_Love_Duchan_Jenna-synopsis, etc.)

Your cover page should have all of your current contact information on it as well as the basic details of your story: Name/pseudonym, email address, best contact phone number, working title (include the series name and number in the series as well if your submission is part of an ongoing series), if the book or series has been previously published with another company, the genre (to the best of your ability), word count, and a short blurb about your work (think “back cover summary”).

We ask that all submissions be sent as attachments in either an .rtf (Rich Text File) or a .doc (Word Document) file.   Author’s name, book title, and synopsis should appear on the first page of your manuscript; uuthor’s name and book title should appear in the header or footer of each page thereafter.  Each page should have 1-inch margins and 1.5-line spacing.  Please use Courier New 12pt font or Arial 12pt font.

Each new chapter should have a page break before the chapter and the chapter title/number should begin approximately 1/3 of the way down the first page.  Unless the story has a specific naming scheme for its chapter titles, each chapter should follow a sequential numeric order.   In great stories, scene breaks happen!  Please designate scene breaks with four astrix ( * ) and two blank lines before and after the astrix.

When you have everything ready, please send your query letter and submission to submissions@tridestinypublishing.com with “submission,” your name, and the genre in the subject line (unless otherwise specified above).
